Sustainable Harvest International
Each Indigenous tree is hand planted with care by farmers in different communities in Central America. Located in Maine, Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) is an audited 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization insuring the quality of the trees and planting. Their mission is to preserve the environment by partnering with families to improve well-being through sustainable farming. With the mass amount of deforestation occurring due to slash and burn agriculture practices, SHI educates farmers on better farming techniques creating a better future for the land and forests. As of today SHI has planted 4 million trees, restoring 16,000 acres of forest.
Each Evergreen tree is planted in the US by Plant-It 2020, a 501(c)(3) private foundation founded in 1992 by the well-known singer and environmentalist John Denver. They have worked with international, national, state and local government, corporate and private partners to plant, maintain and protect 13 million indigenous trees worldwide. Current US planting projects include California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin.
